FOVDAR: Eccentric Mass Vibrator Control and Data Acquisition Software/PC

FOVDAR is a PC-based controller for performing forced vibration tests using an eccentric mass vibrator.  The capabilities of FOVDAR are:

· Allows the user to define the desired sine step sweep range of a test (low and high frequency and step size, vibrator stabilization time).

· Allows the user to enter location information and calibration factors for 16-128 channels of response transducers.

· Creates the drive signal to the eccentric mass vibrator to conduct the sweep and via closed adaptive loop verifies the correct frequency/stabilization of the vibrator (using a pulse feedback).

· Acquires data on 16-128 channels of transducers and automatically correlates the sinusoidal response contained in the signals, thereby rejecting noise.  The result is a frequency domain response function (in-and-out-of-phase response) for each channel.  The resonant frequencies, damping, and mode shapes can typically be easily seen from these plots, or they can be animated using ME’scopeVES.

· Provides for plotting, archiving, and exporting of all data as acceleration, velocity, or displacement.  These can also be normalized to unity force.

     · Test data set ups can be saved and retrieved for later use, review, and modification.· Optionally, FOVDAR can be operated remotely via a wireless connection, thereby allowing the user to be up to 200 m from the vibrator. (See also ANCO products Eccentric Mass Vibrators and FEA & Seismic Analysis.)

FOVDAR is a PC-based, ANCO written Virtual Instrument (VI) using LabVIEW which produces drive signals and acquires data using National Instruments hardware.
